A record Window on Waikato raised $14,000 for Hospice. The outdoor furniture raffle, Christmas puddings and silent auction were also significant fundraisers.

Graffiti Cats continued their excellent work. The Parenting with Confidence Seminar was well received.

Two Emergency Boxes were completed and despatched to the Papua-New Guinea Tsunami area. Other disaster relief included aid for Red Cross, the Nicaragua Cyclone and the Huntly and Northland floods.

Club activities encompassed hosting the Rotary Club of Morrinsville, the first round of Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner, International Night, Rotary Friendship Exchange and a Vocational visit to the Glenbrook Steel Mill.

Funding of $2500 was set aside towards the Club’s Millennium Project and donations were made to the Neurological Research Fund, Plunket, Insoll Avenue Primary School’s Duffy “Books in Homes” project and for Fairfield College Book Prizes.

A fall of seven in membership prompted concern.

The Children’s Christmas party was rated another success.
